Whether your passion is waterskiing, riding wave runners or wakeboarding, Lake Almanor must be your preferred vacation spot if water sports such as waterskiing, riding wave runners, boating, canoeing or just lounging in a lawn chair by the side of the lake.  Boats and Wave Runners can be rented at Knotty Pine Resort and Plumas Pines Marina.

Plumas County offers 100's of lakes and streams (for the lake & stream  fishermen and women) so regardless of your fishing preferences, you'll find plenty of changes to indulge your fishing pleasure.  The most common fish will be Rainbow Trout, but Brown Trout and Brook trout have been established in many waterways.  Additionally, just before dark from June to the first part of July theexaginia (giant mayfly) putting the larger fish into a frenzy of eating and feeding.

 

Chester-Lake Almanor area snowmobiling opens in December and goes through early spring depending on Mother Nature. Throughout the cold season several  hundred paths are created/maintained for recreational use. In Lake Almanor several staging areas are available namely: Chester-Lake Almanor Snowmobile Park, Swain Mountain, Morgan Summit, Jonesville and Fredonyer. Don't forget also about snow skiing and snowboarding!
